At Saola, eco-design applies to each stage of product development. No materials of animal origin are used and 60% of the synthetic materials are recycled or natural. More than 50% of products are made from Oeko-tex certified materials, without risky chemical substances and no PFAS substances are used. Pre-order and style renewal systems over several years are in place to avoid overproduction. We could expect progress in the control of renewable energy in production plants (at the origin of the majority of climate impacts) and in repair and sustainability actions which remain insufficient.

Despite 100% production taking place in Vietnam (for reasons of manufacturing quality and innovation), the factories are all audited in terms of social conditions by the international organization BSCI. No assessment currently on environmental impacts. The production chain is transparent on rank 1 (Production) but not yet on rank 2 (Material suppliers). But a particular proximity is established thanks to the product development director who is himself based in Taiwan (for the supply of materials). Finally, 100% of the production is transported by boat to avoid plane journeys.
